  1. Turn the system off. Wait two minutes or until "Saving your music information" disappears from the display.
  2. Unplug the Acoustimass module power cord from the power outlet.
  3. Unplug the Acoustimass module cable from the module and media center. Wait 30 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the Acoustimass module cable at both ends.
  5. Reconnect the Acoustimass module power cord.
  6. Wait for the words "Bose 3•2•1" to appear and disappear from the display.
  7. Retest the system.

Note: After the reset, wait several minutes before playing stored music. Stored music may not be immediately available depending on how many CDs have been stored. All other sources are available immediately after the system is turned on.

The uMusic Software

Performing a uMusic system reset:

A uMusic reset will erase preset/uStation ratings, preferences, and playlists.

Important: There are two scenarios regarding Artist/Album/Track data:

  • If the information was recognized originally and then changed manually, the reset will revert it and your manual changes will be lost.
  • If the information was not recognized originally and changed manually, the reset will preserve those manual changes.

To perform a uMusic system reset, follow these steps:

  1. Turn the system off.
  2. Unplug the Acoustimass module cable from the back of the media center.
  3. Press and hold the On-Off and Volume + buttons on the media center control panel and reconnect the Acoustimass module cable.
  4. Continue holding the buttons for five seconds after "Bose 3•2•1" disappears from the media center display.
  5. Press the Stored button on the remote. The top line of the display should read "Stored" and the second line should read "Please Wait. Starting Up".
  6. The system begins reassociating CD Album/Artist/Track information for each disc stored.
  7. When finished, the system begins playing stored music in uMusic mode using the most recently used uMusic preset. If it does not start automatically, press the Stored button again.
  8. After at least five seconds of playback, press the On/Off button.
  9. Wait approximately 30 seconds, then press the Stored button.
  10. Press the Library button on the remote and verify that all previously stored CDs are listed.

Note: The time needed for a reset varies with the amount of music stored. A system filled to capacity may take up to one hour to fully reset. The system is not operational during this time.
