Too little bass or too much treble from product | 901® Series VI speaker system v2

If the sound lacks bass or has too much treble:

Try the following:

Check if your speaker placement follows the recommendations for your system.

The placement of the speaker within the area affects how your hear sound from the speakers. For more info, see Speaker placement and positioning.

Be sure the 901 Equalizer is connected properly to the receiver.

If the 901 Equalizer is not connected properly, the speakers may not play properly or at all. For information on the proper connections, see Connecting your 901 equalizer.

Be sure the speakers are connected properly to the receiver.

Check the speaker wire connections so they are wired properly and firmly to the positive and negative terminals. There should be no exposed wires as this risks damaging the receiver or tripping its circuit protection mode. Also, be sure the proper set of speaker terminals are being used; many receivers have an "A Speaker" and "B Speaker" section. See the receiver's owners guide for more information.

Adjust bass and treble controls on the connected audio device.

Many devices have sound options, like bass and treble controls or compression. Check the device menu for sound processing options and disable them. If the issue is resolved, re-add only the necessary sound options. For adjustable options, try small adjustments.

Make sure the receiver's speaker settings are set properly.

Many receivers allow the owner to set the size of the speaker, set tone control, and whether a subwoofer (LFE) is present. For more information on setting the receiver properly, see your receiver's owner's guide

Replace the cables used to connect your product

Try replacing the cables that connect your product. If no issue is heard with new cables, the first set of cables is the issue.

Determine if the room size is too large or the distance from the system is too far.

The volume from the system will seem lower in larger rooms than in smaller rooms. The level of sound will decrease when heard from greater distances. Try to place your system within 20 feet (6 meters) of the listening area.

Try a different audio device.

Connect and play another audio device through your product. This can help determine if the issue is isolated to the first device.

Check the condition of the individual speakers.

Remove the grille and inspect each speaker. If they have broken, deteriorated, or crumbled, determine the Warranty or Rapid Response status and see Service Options for details.
