Reset your product.

Much like rebooting a smartphone, your product might need to be reset on occasion to correct minor issues. For more information, see Resetting your product.

Determine if any recent changes have been made to the headset or aircraft.

If any changes or modifications have been made to either the headset or the aircraft, look into whether or not those changes could have unexpectedly caused this issue.

Check the position of the AUTO-OFF switch on the control module of the Down Cable.

The Auto Off function of the headset may not be enabled.
  1. Remove the batteries from the control module
  2. Move the switch below the AUTO-OFF cable to ON (left). Change the position of the switch using a push-pin or paperclip
  3. Reinstall the batteries. Match the polarity on the batteries to the markings inside the battery compartment
The headset will turn off after 3 to 9 minutes of inactivity

Determine approximately how long the batteries are lasting.

Check to see how long new alkaline or sufficiently charged rechargeable batteries are lasting. The time should be close to the typical battery life of the headset. For information on the battery life, see product specifications.

Determine if the LED is red with new batteries installed.

If the Understanding LED indicator status lights and information does not light green with new batteries, the Down Cable may need service.

Note: Be sure to use a newly purchased set of alkaline batteries as batteries purchased in bulk may have lost their charge over the time in storage.

Replace worn ear cushions.

The issue may be caused by the lack of a proper seal by the ear cushions around the ear. Also check to be sure the cushions are securely attached to the earcup. Replacing worn ear cushions will aid in comfort, the performance of the active noise reduction and battery life

The Down Cable may need service.
