Low audio | Companion® 3 Series II system

Determine if the problem is specifically related to bass performance.

If there is too little bass, see Too little bass or too much treble from product.
If there is too much bass, see Too much bass or too little treble from product.

Turn up the volume of the connected device.

Set the device volume to 90–100% to send a strong signal to your product. Then, use your product to adjust the volume level.

Reset your product.

Much like rebooting a smartphone, your product might need to be reset on occasion to correct minor issues. For more information, see Resetting your product.

Try a different app.

If the issue only occurs with a particular app, it is likely related to the app or app settings.

Try playing different types of media.

Different media types might produce different quality sound. For example, Podcasts, music stored locally on your phone, MP3s, streaming music services (Spotify, Pandora), videos on your device or stored in the cloud, etc. can all vary in quality. Try different media to determine if the issue is specific to certain media.

Try connecting a different audio device.

If available, connect another audio device using the same cables and connections to determine if the issue is related to the first device or its settings.

Check the condition of the control pod cable.

If any of the pins are broken or bent on the Acoustimass module connector, or if the cable is damaged, replace the control pod.

Try a different set of powered speakers.

If available, connect a different set of powered speakers. If the same issue occurs, the issue is with the computer or its audio settings.
