Remote control does not work from a distance | CineMate® GS Series II home theater speaker system
Be sure the remote is within range of the system.
The range of the remote is 20 feet
Check that nothing is blocking the front of your product.
If the remote sensor on your product is fully or partially covered, it might not detect the commands from your remote control. If anything is blocking the front of your product, move it and check if the issue is resolved.
Be sure the remote control sensor on your product is not in direct light.
If the remote sensor on your product is in a very bright area (e.g. in excessive sunlight or lighting), the light interference could affect the ability of your product to detect the IR light commands from your remote control. If there is excessive light on your product, try reducing it.
Try new batteries in the remote.
In case the battery or batteries in your remote are low or have no power, replace them. Alkaline batteries are recommended over rechargeable batteries, which might output lower voltage. (Note: Battery testers are not always reliable since they might detect power but not indicate if there is adequate power for the remote.)
Reset your product.
Much like rebooting a smartphone, your product might need to be reset on occasion to correct minor issues. For more information, see Resetting your product.
Check that nothing is blocking the front of the Bose interface module.
The remote control sensor for your product is on the interface module, which is the small connection box with the light on the front. If it is fully or partially covered, it might not detect the commands from your remote control. If anything is blocking the front the interface module, move it and check if the issue is resolved.
If the issue only occurs when 3D content is playing, replace the Interface Module.
If the remote works perfectly when non-3D content is playing, replace the interface module as the new part is more resistant to interference caused by 3D TVs and can improve remote performance when used with these televisions
Try controlling other devices with the remote.
If the remote can control devices connected to your system but it cannot control the Bose system, the interface module is not detecting commands from the remote. See Service Options for the interface module.
