Interface module light is always red | CineMate® home theater speaker system
Make sure the proper remote is being used.
A remote from another product will have different or no functionality.
The remote of the original Cinemate system is graphite gray. The remote of the Cinemate GSII system has the same button layout of the original system but its remote is black. If the speakers have never been replaced, the color of the remote should match the speakers.

Be sure the remote is within range of the system.
The range of the remote is 20 feet
Make sure the correct button is pressed.
Be careful to press the On/Off button to turn the system on. If a source button is pressed, or if multiple buttons are pressed at the same time, the system will will not turn on.
Check that nothing is blocking the front of your product.
If the remote sensor on your product is fully or partially covered, it might not detect the commands from your remote control. If anything is blocking the front of your product, move it and check if the issue is resolved.
Be sure the remote control sensor on your product is not in direct light.
If the remote sensor on your product is in a very bright area (e.g. in excessive sunlight or lighting), the light interference could affect the ability of your product to detect the IR light commands from your remote control. If there is excessive light on your product, try reducing it.
If you have not, remove the plastic film on the front of the interface module.
New units have a protective film covering the front of the interface module. Since the interface module detects commands from the remote control, be sure the film is removed to maximize the range of the remote.
Remove and reseat the interface module cable to ensure a firm connection.
Disconnect and reconnect the interface module connector at the back of the Acoustimass module. This connection is held in place by two thumbscrews which must be firmly tightened to ensure a proper connection. For information on connecting the system, see Setting up your product.
