Humming, buzzing or rattling noise heard from product | Bose Home Speaker 300

If you hear an unexpected noise from your product:

Try the following:

Be sure the rattling noise is not something on or near the system.

A loose item on or near the system may be vibrating when certain frequencies or volume levels are played. Secure any loose items or move the system or items to another location if the system sound is causing nearby items to rattle.

Determine if the issue is coming from the right side of the speaker.

It is normal for a rattling noise to be heard from the right side of the speaker during bass-heavy and/or high-volume audio. This noise is known as "port noise," which can be produced by the movement of speakers in a ported enclosure. Try reducing the system's bass level (see Adjusting the tone controls on your product) or lowering the volume level. If playing from a connected Bluetooth® or AUX device, be sure no bass EQ or audio processing is enabled in the sound settings of the device and the app used to play audio.

Determine if the rattle is from movement of the speaker enclosure or from audio playback

If the rattling occurs when the product is moved or shook, there may be a foreign item within the enclosure. If the rattle only seems to occur sound is produced by the speakers, see Poor sound quality from product.

Disconnect the coaxial cable that comes from your wall to a device, then check if the issue stops.

Find the coaxial cable that is coming into your house, then isconnect it from the first device to which it connects. This is typically the twist-on connection to your cable or satellite box. If the noise stops when disconnected, purchasing a coaxial ground loop isolator should help. The coaxial cable will plug into the isolator, then the isolator will connect to the device.

Try connecting a different audio device.

If available, connect another audio device using the same cables and connections to determine if the issue is related to the first device or its settings.

Reset your product.

Much like rebooting a smartphone, your product might need to be reset on occasion to correct minor issues. For more information, see Resetting your product.
