Too little bass or too much treble from product | Bose AE2 headphones
If the sound lacks bass or has too much treble:
Try the following:
Determine if the headset is a replacement for the original Around Ear headphones.
The AE2 headphones have a different acoustic tuning than Around Ear headphones as well as lesser headband clamping force. These factors may be perceptible by the user when these products are compared and most likely do not indicate product failure
Adjust bass and treble controls on the source.
Sound quality may suffer if bass and treble controls are set to extreme levels. Try adjusting the controls to mid-range levels; this may improve sound quality. Be sure to turn off both audio enhancements and special equalizer settings found on the source
Try connecting a different audio device.
If available, connect another audio device using the same cables and connections to determine if the issue is related to the first device or its settings.
Try a different app.
If the issue only occurs with a particular app, it is likely related to the app or app settings.
Check that the audio cable is secure and sits flush with the earcup.
Disconnect and reconnect the audio cable. When fully connected, the plug should sit flush and not stick out from the earcup.
Check the condition of the audio plug on your product.
If the audio connector on your product is broken, frayed or damaged, it might not play audio as expected. If it is damaged, your product may need service.
Be sure the headphone openings are clean and free of debris.
Check for blockages in the headphone mesh grille and headphone opening. Excessive debris can result in low audio, poor sound quality or missing audio channels.
If connected, bypass any adapters or extension cables.
If your product connects to the device using an extension cable or adapter, disconnect the extension cable or adapter to determine if the issue is related to it.
