ProFlight Aviation Headset | Setting the adjustable Active Noise Cancellation mode
To switch between noise cancellation modes:
Using the control module
Acoustic Noise Cancellation (ANC) reduces unwanted noise, which provides clearer sound from the headset. You can adjust noise cancellation based on your listening preferences and environment. The first time you power on your headset, noise cancellation is fully enabled. You can adjust the amount of noise cancellation with the ANC switch on the control module:
- High: Set the switch to HIGH for maximum quiet and noise cancellation.
- Medium: Provides comfortable noise cancellation with some awareness to environmental sound outside your headset.
- Low: Overall noise reduction is reduced and sound outside your headset is more audible (i.e. other flight members, in-flight announcements and the environment around you)
Using the tap control
Note: By default, Tap Control is disabled. To enable Tap Control, see Setting operation switches in your headset control module. When you need to focus on communication in the aircraft that is not coming through your headset, you can quickly reduce the amount of noise cancellation in one ear by double-tapping that earbud. Double-tapping the earbud again returns noise cancellation in both ear to the ANC switch setting.
Additional notes:
- Tap Control is not a touch control feature; it is a pressure control. Firmly double-tap the earbud to activate Tap Control
- Since Tap Control changes noise cancellation in one earbud to Low, Tap Control only works when the ANC switch on the control module is set to High or Medium. If the switch is already set to Low, Tap Control has no effect
