Resetting your product | Bose Home Speaker 450

Do you want to reset your product or restore its default settings?

  • Reset: A reset corrects minor processors errors. Unless indicated otherwise, product settings are not lost during a reset.
  • Restore factory settings: This resets your product to its factory default configuration. Unless indicated otherwise, all settings are cleared and reverted to their original out-of-box state. After, your product can be configured as if it were being setup for the first time.

To reset your speaker:

  1. If your product is on, power it off by holding the Play/Pause button for two seconds.
  2. Disconnect the power cord for 30 seconds.
    When you reconnect the power cord, the light bar pulses white while resetting and stops when finished.

Note: This reset erases all settings and returns your product to its default out-of-box state. Once reset, open the Bose Music app to reconfigure your product.
  1. Remove the product from your Bose account. For more info, see Removing a product from your Bose account
  2. Simultaneously press and hold the Volume - and AUX buttons for 10 seconds to reset the product.

Note: This reset erases all settings and returns your product to its default out-of-box state. Once reset, open the Bose Music app to reconfigure your product.
  1. In the Amazon Alexa app, go to Devices > Echo & Alexa and select your Bose product to view its details
  2. Scroll down and tap Deregister
    Tip: If your product appears more than once, remove all instances of it
  3. If you do not plan to use other Bose product with your Amazon account after the reset, view the installed Skills in the Alexa app and remove the Bose skill
  4. Open the Bose app and remove Alexa from your Bose account. For more info, see Adding or removing the Amazon Alexa voice assistant
  5. Remove the product from your Bose account. For more info, see Removing a product from your Bose account
  6. Simultaneously press and hold the Volume - and AUX buttons for 10 seconds to reset the product.

  3. On the top of your product, simultaneously press and hold the Volume - and AUX buttons for 10 seconds. The product reboots and, when complete, the light bar on the front glows solid amber.
