Resetting your product | SoundTouch® SA-4 amplifier
To reset the SoundTouch adapter:
- On the back of the system console, disconnect the SoundTouch adapter from the Bose link jack.
- Wait 1 minute, then reconnect the adapter.
- Once the light on the adapter glows solid, resume normal use.
Reset your SoundTouch Controller by following these steps:
- Remove the batteries from the controller
- Wait 30 seconds. (Note: For EU variants, wait 3 minutes)
- Replace the batteries by matching the polarity markings inside the battery compartment
Advanced Troubleshooting
If the standard reset does not resolve your issue, try the Factory Reset/Default
To restore the factory default settings:
Note: With the exception of the ADAPTiQ audio calibration settings, this reset erases all settings and returns your system to its default out-of-box state.
- Power off your system.
- On the back of the system console, disconnect the power cord.
- On the front of the system console, simultaneously press and hold the Source and the Volume - buttons and, while holding them, reconnect the power cord.
- Continue holding the buttons until the Bose logo appears twice on the TV screen.
- Re-pair the remote control with your system. For more info, see Pairing the remote control to your system.
To restore the factory default settings of the SoundTouch adapter:
Note: This reset erases all settings and returns your product to its default out-of-box state. Once reset, open the SoundTouch app to reconfigure your product.
- Turn on your system
- On the back of the system console, disconnect the SoundTouch adapter from the Bose link and USB jacks
- If connected, disconnect the Ethernet cable from the adapter
- On the back of the adapter, press and hold the Control button and, while holding it, reconnect the Bose link cable to the console
- When the light on the pedestal begins blinking white (about five seconds), release the Control button
- Reconnect the USB cable to the console
- Wait until the light on the adapter is solid amber. (Note: While resetting, the light will change colors and blink patterns for up to 4 minutes)
- If previously connected, reconnect the Ethernet cable
If the standard reset does not resolve your issue, try the Factory Reset/Default
To restore the factory default settings of the SoundTouch adapter:
- Turn on your Bose system.
- On the back of the system console, disconnect the SoundTouch adapter from the Bose link jack.
- If connected, disconnect the Ethernet cable from the adapter.
- On the back of the adapter, press and hold the Control button and, while holding it, reconnect the Bose link cable to the system console.
- After about five seconds when the light on the adapter begins blinking white, release the Control button.
- Wait until the light on the adapter glows solid amber
Tip: While resetting, the light will change colors and patterns for up to four minutes. - If you disconnected an Ethernet cable in step 3, reconnect it.
To restore the factory default settings:
Note: This reset erases all settings and returns your product to its default out-of-box state. Once reset, open the SoundTouch app to reconnect the controller to a product.
- Remove the batteries from the controller
- Press and hold the screen on the controller and, while holding it, re-insert the batteries
Tip: If you have difficulty, insert three batteries, then press and hold the screen while inserting the fourth battery - Release the screen and wait for an open book icon to appear in the center of the screen.
