Resetting your product | SoundTouch® 520 home theater system
To reset the system console.
- Turn the system off.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the system console or from the power outlet.
- Unplug the cables connected to the Speaker Connections jacks on the back of the system console.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the cables to the Speaker Connections jacks on the back of the system console.
- Reconnect the power cord for the system console.
Reset the SoundTouch adapter.
SoundTouch settings are not lost during a reset.
- On the back of the system console, disconnect the SoundTouch adapter from the Bose link and USB jacks.
- Wait 1 minute, then reconnect the adapter.
- Once the light glows solid on the adapter, resume normal use.
Advanced Troubleshooting
If the standard reset does not resolve your issue, try the Factory Reset/Default
To restore your system to the factory settings:
This reset erases all settings and returns your product to its default out-of-box state. If a SoundTouch adapter is connected, it must be reset separately.
- On the remote control, press the System button. The system menu will appear in the display on the front of the Bose system console.
- Scroll down to select 16 FACTORY RESET.
- Press the 5 button to confirm.
- Press EXIT to exit the menu.
Restore the factory default settings of the SoundTouch adapter.
- Power on your Bose system
- On the back of the system console, disconnect the SoundTouch adapter from the Bose link jack
- If connected, disconnect the Ethernet cable from the adapter
- On the back of the adapter, press and hold the Control button and, while holding it, reconnect the Bose link cable to the system console
- After about 5 seconds when the light on the adapter begins blinking white, release the Control button
- Wait until the light on the adapter glows solid amber
Tip: While resetting, the light will change colors and patterns for up to 4 minutes - If you disconnected an Ethernet cable in step 3, reconnect it.
