Resetting your product | Lifestyle® 235 series II home entertainment system
Restore Factory Settings
This resets your product to its factory default configuration. Unless indicated otherwise, all settings are cleared and reverted to their original out-of-box state. After, your product can be configured as if it were being setup for the first time.
What part would you like to Factory Reset?
To restore the system to factory default settings:
Note: With the exception of the ADAPTiQ audio calibration settings, this reset erases all settings and returns your system to its default out-of-box state.
- Power off your system.
- On the back of the system console, disconnect the power cord.
- On the front of the system console, simultaneously press and hold the Source and Volume - buttons and, while holding them, reconnect the power cord.
- Continue holding the buttons until the Bose logo appears twice on the TV screen.
- Re-pair the remote control with your system. For more info, see Pairing the remote control to your system.
To restore the remote to factory default settings:
Note: This returns your remote to its out-of-box state, which clears it from controlling your Bose system and devices it has been programmed to control.
- On the remote control, simultaneously press and hold the OK button, the – button, and the Glow button (on the back) for about 10 seconds until Factory Reset appears on the remote display.
- Once reset, the remote will need to be linked to your system before it can control it. For more info, see Pairing the remote control to your system.
To restore the SoundTouch adapter to factory default settings:
Note: This reset erases all settings and returns your product to its default out-of-box state. Once reset, open the SoundTouch app to reconfigure your product.
- Turn on your system.
- On the back of the system console, disconnect the SoundTouch adapter from the Bose link and USB jacks.
- If connected, disconnect the Ethernet cable from the adapter.
- On the back of the adapter, press and hold the Control button and, while holding it, reconnect the Bose link cable to the console.
- When the light on the pedestal begins blinking white (about five seconds), release the Control button.
- Reconnect the USB cable to the console.
- Wait until the light on the adapter is solid amber.
Note: While resetting, the light will change colors and blink patterns for up to 4 minutes. - If previously connected, reconnect the Ethernet cable.
Resetting your system
A reset corrects minor processors errors. Unless indicated otherwise, product settings are not lost during a reset.

To reset your Lifestyle system:
- Turn the system off. Wait 30 seconds.
- Unplug the control console power cord from the power outlet.
- Unplug the audio input cable from the control console.
- Unplug the Acoustimass module power cord from the power outlet.
- Unplug the audio input cable from the Acoustimass module. Wait 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the audio input cable to the Acoustimass module.
- Reconnect the audio input cable to the control console.
- Reconnect the Acoustimass module power cord.
- Reconnect the control console power cord.
- Retest the system.
To reset the control console:
- Turn the control console off.
- On the control console, press and hold the Power button for five seconds. The red LED will turn off.
- Release the Power button.
- Retest the system.
Note: It is not necessary to remove the power cord or any connected SoundTouch Wireless Adapter from the control console.
To reset the SoundTouch adapter:
SoundTouch settings are not lost during a reset.
- On the back of the system console, disconnect the SoundTouch adapter from the Bose link and USB jacks.
- Wait 1 minute, then reconnect the adapter.
- Once the light glows solid on the adapter, resume normal use.
