Grouping Systems | Bose Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar

If you are trying to connect Lifestyle Ultra products together

This article shows how to connect the Lifestyle Ultra speaker to other Airplay, Google Cast or previous Bose app compatible smart speakers.

If you are trying to connect your Lifestyle Ultra Speaker to another Lifestyle Ultra Speaker (In Stereo) or to a Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar as part of a Lifestyle Collection home theatre system, see Configuring your Lifestyle System.

Grouping with Airplay

  1. Swipe down from the top right‑hand corner of your iPhone/iPad to open Control Center.
  2. Tap the AirPlay icon (audio output button).
  3. A list of all available AirPlay 2 devices will appear.
    • This can include previous generation Bose speakers.
    • Make sure all devices you want to group are connected to the same Wi‑Fi network
  4. Tap any device you want to use — a white checkmark will appear once it’s selected.
  5. Select one speaker to play individually, or select multiple speakers to play audio together wirelessly from the same source.
  6. Once the devices are selected, AirPlay will automatically group them.
  7. You can now play audio from any source on your iPhone, and it will play through all selected devices.

Grouping with Google Cast

Ensure Google Cast is enabled in the Bose app
  1. In the Bose app, tap Settings settings icon in the upper-right corner. If this button is not shown, tap the Product Control icon product control icon in the lower-left corner.
Tip: If you have more than one Bose app-compatible speaker, tap the My Bose icon my bose icon in upper-left corner, select a speaker (which will be the primary speaker) then tap Settings.
  2. Tap Google Cast
  3. Toggle on Enable Google Cast
Create the group in the Google Home app
  1. Open the Google Home app on your phone or tablet.
  2. Make sure all devices you want to group are connected to the same Wi‑Fi network and appear in the app.
  3. Tap the “+” (Add) button at the top of the screen.
  4. Select “Create speaker group.”
  5. Choose each device you want included in the group — a checkmark will appear next to each selected speaker.
  6. Enter a name for your new group (e.g., “Living Room Group”).
  7. Tap Save to finish creating the group.
  8. Open any Cast‑enabled app, tap the Cast icon, and select your new speaker group to start playing synchronized audio.
