SoundTouch app will not install | Lifestyle® SoundTouch® 525 entertainment system

Mac users may need to hold the Control key (Ctrl) when opening the file.

Various versions of the Mac OS cannot identify Bose as a developer. The Mountain Lion version of OS X (10.8) includes a feature called Gatekeeper to protect users from installing applications of non-Apple identified developers. The Mavericks version of OS X (10.9.5) temporarily cannot identify Bose as a developer as well.

To open the application, follow these steps:
  1. Press and hold the Control key while clicking on the application icon
    Note: Do not use Launchpad to do this. Launchpad doesn’t allow you to access the shortcut menu
  2. In the menu that appears, select Open at the top of the list
  3. A confirmation window will appear. Select Open

Have the user log in to the computer as the Administrator to install the app.

The user account used to log in to the computer may have restricted access to the folder where the installer file is located. If unable to log into the Admin account, try downloading the install file to a folder that the user's acount is able to access

Be sure the device being used meets the minimum supported system requirements.

Check the product documentation for compatible operating systems.

Try downloading the app to a different computer.

If you are able to download and run the app on another computer as expected, the issue is related to the first computer.

Reboot the computer.

Computers may need to be rebooted from time to time. Shut down your computer, then turn it on and try again. (Note: To reboot your computer, select Shut Down or Restart; do not select Sleep or Hibernate.)

For Windows 7, 8, or 10, set the permissions of C:\Windows\temp to "Full control".

Change the folder permissions using the instructions below. Then try the installation again.
  1. Go to C:\Windows
  2. Right-click the "temp" folder and choose Properties
  3. On the "Sercurity" tab, click "Edit"
  4. For "Full control," check "Allow"
  5. Choose "Apply," then "OK"
