- Press the System button on the remote
- Press the right arrow on the remote to select the Video icon
- Press the down arrow on the remote to highlight "Persistent Video"

- Enabled: Allows the video from your selected source (DVD, CBL-SAT, AUX, VCR or TV) to continue to play on your TV screen (without audio) after switching to an audio source
- Press the Exit button to save the setting and leave the menu
The last selected external video source remains on the screen when the new audio source (such as AM, FM, CD, DVD or any external input that has been set as a music player) is selected from the list of device types. For information on setting device type, see Programming your remote.
When set to Disabled:
The video screen goes blank when the new audio source is selected.
Note: For consoles with software version 010200 or newer, Apple TV and iPod docks are considered music players. The codes for these devices disable persistent video and pass the video output of the device to the TV screen.
