Humming, buzzing or rattling noise heard from product | Bose mobile on-ear headset
If you hear an unexpected noise from your product:
Try the following:
Determine if the rattle is from your product components of from audio playback.
If the rattle seems to come from the sound produced by your product speakers, see Poor sound quality from product. If the rattling occurs when the product is moved, check for any visible damage or loose parts.
Be sure the rattling noise is not coming from the connected device.
Loose components inside the connected device may rattle when used. Contact the device manufacturer for further help if this is the case.
Inspect the ear cup backing plate for damage.
Remove the ear cushion and inspect the plastic backing plate for damage. If the backing plate is cracked place a part order as needed. For information on removing and replacing the ear cup, see Replacing the ear cushions on your headset.
Remove the device from its case or protective sleeve (if applicable).
If a case or protective sleeve is on your device, try removing it to determine if it is preventing the headphones plug from making a full connection.
Unplug and reconnect the audio cable in the connected device.
On the connected device, disconnect the cable that connects your headset. Then, reconnect it to be sure it is fully connected and secure. (Tip: While connected, if you rotate the plug in the jack and hear crackling or intermittent sound, there might be debris or an issue with a contact inside the jack.)
Try disconnecting the microphone cable and connect the headphones directly to your device
If the headphones work without the microphone cable, the microphone may need to be replaced.
Check the condition of the headphone cable.
If the plug or any part of the cable is damaged, replace the headphone cable.
Plug in a different pair of headphones.
Connect another pair of headphones to the audio device to determine if the issue is with the device or its settings.
