Adjust fit and settings to minimise creaking

In some environments, you may notice a faint creaking or clicking sound, sometimes from just one earcup.

This behaviour is normal and not a defect, and Service Replacement is unlikely to resolve it.

How to Reduce the Creaking

1. Ensure Even Headband Extension

Make sure both sides of the headband are extended evenly.

  • Uneven extension can create unequal pressure on each earcup
  • This can lead to subtle movement or noise in one side

This is the most effective adjustment and often resolves the issue.

2. Adjust Fit and Position

  • Reposition the headphones slightly on your head
  • Ensure both earcups form a balanced, even seal
  • Avoid tilting or uneven placement

A small adjustment in fit can reduce pressure-related noise.

3. Enable Wind Cancelling (Wind Block) Mode

If the noise persists:

  • Turn on Wind Block under Modes in the Bose app
  • This mode reduces sensitivity to low-frequency vibration and airflow effects
