Entering or exiting battery protection mode | Bose Portable Smart Speaker

Connect your product to an AC (mains) outlet to exit battery protection mode.

The speaker enters battery protection mode to preserve battery integrity when the speaker is not connected to power and it goes unused for either:
  • Three days when the remaining battery charge is greater than 20 percent
  • One day when the remaining battery charge is less than 20 percent
To reactivate the system, connect it to AC (mains) power.

Note: Do not store the speaker for extended periods when the battery indicator blinks red. When not in use, store the speaker in a cool place.

Be sure to use a compatible power supply.

The original Bose power supply is recommended to properly power your speaker. If the speaker is in protection mode due to a period of unuse, it may require 3 Amps to wake the speaker from this mode. Be sure the USB power supply you are using is able to output 3 Amps.
