Software or firmware update will not install | Bose QuietComfort Headphones
Checking your Firmware version in the Bose app:
Check the firmware version of your product and compare against the latest version available below.
- In the Bose app, tap the Settings icon
in the upper-right corner.
If a different product is shown, tap the My Bose iconin upper-left corner then select the desired product.
- Scroll down to the Support section and select Technical Info
- Details about your product will be displayed.

Be sure you are using the Bose app.
There are several Bose apps designed for different products. Your product works with the Bose app

If you experience an issue with the app, uninstall it from your device. Once uninstalled, tap the App Store or Google Play Store below to reinstall it, then try again.
Update Your Product at BTU.Bose.com
Please note: btu.Bose.com is compatible with different Bose product and the images displayed in this article may not match your product.
- On a computer, go to btu.bose.com to open the Bose updater
Tip: If you have difficulty with the updater, see Compatibility info for the Bose online product updater - View the terms of use, then click Accept and Continue to start
- Click Download and save the file to your computer
- Open the file and install the updater
Note: If the page does not automatically advance, click the click here text.
- Connect your product to the computer with a USB cable
- If the updater shows an update is available, click Apply Changes and wait for the update to install
Note: The product image shown below may differ depending on the product you are updating. - Once updated, disconnect your product from the computer.
