Pairing Bose Headphones | Bose QuietComfort Headphones

Add your headphones to the Bose app.

Download the Bose app

The free Bose app icon lets you set up and control your headphones from a mobile device, choose a voice prompt language, adjust noise cancelling levels, and more. For more info, see Downloading the Bose app.
  • If you open the app and are prompted to allow Location Service or Bluetooth® permissions, allow them.
    Tip: These are used so the app can detect and control your product. If you do not allow them, the app will not find your product.
  • If you don't have a Bose account, tap Create Account and follow the app instructions.
  • If you already have a Bose account, tap Log In and enter your username and password.

Add your headphones to your account

  1. Press and hold the Power switch all the way to the right (toward he Bluetooth® icon) and hold it there until the Bluetooth light is blinking blue. If you're wearing your headphones, you'll hear "Ready to connect."
  2. In the Bose app, from the "My Bose" screen, tap the + button.
  3. Select Headphones and Frames
  4. Select your headphones and then follow the app instructions.

Do I need the Bose app to pair my Bose products?

Your earbuds can pair directly to your phone or tablet.

You do not need the Bose app to use or pair your Bose earbuds. The earbuds can be connected to your phone, tablet, or other Bluetooth device without the app.

However, using the Bose Music app can improve your experience by giving you access to additional features that are not available through Bluetooth settings alone. These include:

  • EQ (Equalizer) Controls: Adjust bass, treble, and midrange to suit your listening preferences.
  • CustomTune Sound Calibration: Automatically adjusts the sound to match the shape of your ears for better audio and noise cancellation.
  • Adjustable Noise Cancellation Modes: Fine-tune how much outside sound you hear and switch between noise cancelling and aware modes.
  • Touch Shortcut Customization: Change what the earbud touch gestures do, such as switching modes or activating voice assistants.
  • Software and Firmware Updates: Keep your earbuds up to date with the latest features and bug fixes.
How do I pair my Bose product without the Bose app?

How to pair your earbuds without the Bose app.

If you prefer not to use the Bose app, you can still easily pair your Bose headphones directly with your phone or tablet using Bluetooth.
Step 1 - Put your headphones in pairing mode by pressing and holding the Bluetooth button. You should see a flashing blue light on the headphones indicating they are ready to pair. 

Step 2 - Open the Bluetooth settings on your phone or tablet. 

 On Apple devices, look under "Other Devices." 

 On Android devices, look under "Available Devices."

Step 3 - Select your Bose headphones . Wait until they show on your device as Connected.

Please note: If you decide to use the Bose app you can open the app and add your earbuds without having to clear and repair them to your phone or tablet. 
Can I pair my Bose products to a computer, TV or other Bluetooth device?

Your earbuds will pair to any device that transmits sound over Bluetooth

Your Bose earbuds can connect to computers, TVs, and other devices that send sound over Bluetooth. However, most of these devices do not support the Bose app.

 To pair your Bose earbuds with a computer or TV: 

  1. Put your Bose earbuds in pairing mode as described above. 
  2. Open the Bluetooth settings on your computer or TV and select your Bose earbuds from the list of available devices.

Please note: The Bluetooth settings of devices can differ depending on the manufacture. If you are not sure how to use your computer or TV's Bluetooth settings, please see the owner's guide. 
Why won't my headphones pair to my device?

If your Bose headphones won’t pair with your phone or mobile device, try the following:

  1. Restart both devices
     Turn off the headphones and your phone or tablet.
     Turn them back on, then try pairing again.
  2. Check Bluetooth settings
     On your phone or tablet, open the Bluetooth settings menu.
     Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
  3. Clear the headphones memory of previously-connected Bluetooth® devices.
     Power on your headphones, then slide the Power/Bluetooth switch to the right and hold it for 15 seconds until you hear “Bluetooth device list cleared. Ready to connect.” then try pairing again
