Resetting your product | CineMate® 520 home theater system
Resetting your system
A reset corrects minor processors errors. Unless indicated otherwise, product settings are not lost during a reset.
What part would you like to reset?
Reset Your System
- Turn the system off.
- Unplug the control center from the power outlet.
- Unplug the Acoustimass module power cord from the power outlet.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the Acoustimass module power cord.
- Reconnect the control center power cord.
Reset the System Console
- Power off your Bose system.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the system console or from the power outlet.
- Unplug the cables connected to the Speaker Connections jacks on the back of the system console.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the cables to the Speaker Connections jacks on the back of the system console.
- Reconnect the power cord for the system console.
Reset the SoundTouch Adapter (if connected)
- On the back of the system console, disconnect the SoundTouch adapter from the Bose link jack.
- Wait 1 minute, then reconnect the adapter.
- Once the light on the adapter glows solid, resume normal use.
Advanced Troubleshooting
If the standard reset does not resolve your issue, try the Factory Reset/Default
Restore Factory Settings
This resets your system to its factory configuration. Unless indicated otherwise, all settings are cleared and reverted to their original out-of-box state. After, your product can be configured as if it were being setup for the first time. This can be done using the system menu on your TV or, if video is not connected, using the buttons on your system. If a SoundTouch adapter is connected, it must be reset separately.
What part of the system would you like to Factory Reset?
The System
- On the remote control, press the System button. The system menu will appear in the display on the front of the Bose system console.
- Scroll down to select 16 FACTORY RESET.
- Press the 5 button to confirm.
- Press EXIT to exit the menu.
The SoundTouch Adapter (if applicable)
- Power on your Bose system.
- On the back of the system console, disconnect the SoundTouch adapter from the Bose link jack.
- If connected, disconnect the Ethernet cable from the adapter.
- On the back of the adapter, press and hold the Control button and, while holding it, reconnect the Bose link cable to the system console.
- After about 5 seconds, when the light on the adapter begins blinking white, release the Control button.
- Wait until the light on the adapter glows solid amber.
- Tip: While resetting, the light will change colors and patterns for up to 4 minutes.
- If you disconnected an Ethernet cable in step 3, reconnect it.
