Resetting your product | Bose Smart Speaker 500
Do you want to reset your product or restore its default settings?
- Reset: A reset corrects minor processors errors. Unless indicated otherwise, product settings are not lost during a reset.
- Restore factory settings: This resets your product to its factory default configuration. Unless indicated otherwise, all settings are cleared and reverted to their original out-of-box state. After, your product can be configured as if it were being setup for the first time.
To reset your speaker:
- If your product is on, power it off by holding the Play/Pause button for two seconds.
- Disconnect the power cord for 30 seconds.
When you reconnect the power cord, the light bar pulses white while resetting and stops when finished.

- Simultaneously press and hold the Volume - and AUX buttons for 10 seconds to reset the product.

- In the Amazon Alexa app, go to Devices > Echo & Alexa and select your Bose product to view its details
- Scroll down and tap Deregister
Tip: If your product appears more than once, remove all instances of it - If you do not plan to use other Bose product with your Amazon account after the reset, view the installed Skills in the Alexa app and remove the Bose skill
- Open the Bose app and remove Alexa from your Bose account. For more info, see Adding or removing the Amazon Alexa voice assistant

- On the top of your product, simultaneously press and hold the Volume - and AUX buttons for 10 seconds. The product reboots and, when complete, the light bar on the front glows solid amber.
