Poor sound quality from product | SoundComm™ B30 headset
Be sure the radio is within range of the base station.
The wireless radio connected to the headset has a 30 to 50 yard range from its base station. If the radio is out of range or encountering interference between it and the base station, the microphone or communication can become poor or intermittent. Try moving the radio closer to the base station.
Be sure the intercom is configured properly.
If the intercom is not properly configured for use with the headset, the sound level and quality can suffer. For more information, see Configuring the headset intercom gain settings.
Check if the issue occurs only when volume level in headset becomes excessive.
If the audio level in the earcup gets loud enough (i.e., someone shouting loudly over the intercom), the headset's compressor activates to prevent sound from clipping and crackling. While active, audio can sound soft and slightly distorted.The compressor remains active for 10-15 seconds after audio levels return to a more moderate level. To prevent this, reduce the source volume or back away from the mic when speaking loudly.
Replace worn ear cushions.
The issue may be caused by the lack of a proper seal by the ear cushions around the ear. Also check to be sure the cushions are securely attached to the earcup. Replacing worn ear cushions will aid in comfort, the performance of the active noise reduction and battery life
Be sure the headset scrims are clean and free of debris.
Check for blockages in the scrim (the cloth grille inside earcup opening). Excessive debris can result in low audio or poor sound quality.
Plug in a different pair of headphones.
Connect another pair of headphones to the audio device to determine if the issue is with the device or its settings.
