Static noise in one ear | SoundComm™ B40 headset

Be sure the radio is within range of its base station.

The wireless radio connected to the headset might be out of range of its base station. This can cause interference, poor or intermittent microphone or headphones. Try moving the radio closer to its base station.

Check to see if movement against the cable is causing the issue.

If the cable from the headset brushes against something (i.e. rubbing against clothing while walking), a scraping noise can travel through the cable, headset and microphone. This issue is amplified when multiple users experience the issue on the same intercom since the noise can travel through the microphones of connected the headsets and into the communication of other headsets.
  • Use the provided clothing clips (or use additional clips) to prevent movement or material against the cable.
  • Adjust the mic gain. If the gain is set too high, noise is more noticeable. Try turning down the mic gain so noise isn't picked up as easily

Plug in a different pair of headphones.

Connect another pair of headphones to the audio device to determine if the issue is with the device or its settings.

Replace the batteries.

Remove the batteries from you product, then insert new batteries. Check that the + and markings on the batteries match the markings in the battery compartment. (Note: Rechargeable batteries are not recommended. Use alkaline batteries when possible.)
