Replacing the wax guards | Bose SoundControl™ Hearing Aids
Replace the wax guards.
The white plastic screens under the eartips are the wax guards. It is recommended to replace them about every 3 months, or when they have significant earwax buildiup.
- On the hearing aid, remove the eartip. For more info, see Changing ear tips
- At the end of the speaker, insert the smaller, ridged end of the wax guard tool into the center of the white wax guard
Tip: The wax guard replacement tool is included with your new wax guards
- Pull out the old wax guard and remove it from the end of the wax guard tool
Tip: Angle the tip of the wax guard tool so it presses against the inside of the wax guard, then pull back to remove it - Pick up the new wax guard by inserting the larger, white end of the wax guard tool into the center of the new wax guard
- Guide the new wax guard into the the speaker so that it's flush with the top of the speaker, then pull the tool straight out
Tip: Be sure the wax guard sits flush against the speaker. This ensures it's secure and helps prevent it from falling off in your ear canal
- Reattach the earip. For more info, see Changing ear tips.
