Updating the software or firmware of your product | Bose Solo 15 TV sound system
To update your Solo speaker:
- You will need a computer with an Internet connection
- You will need a USB drive
- It is recommended to use an empty USB drive. If the drive is not empty, be sure no other ".bos" files are on the drive
- The USB drive must have at least 10MB of free space
- Do not use a USB drive larger than 32GB
- The USB drive must be formatted FAT or FAT32
Download your speaker info to the USB drive:
- Power on your speaker.
- Connect a USB drive to the SERVICE jack on the back of your speaker.
- Wait for the info to download: he light on your speaker blinks amber while downloading and turns off when complete.
- Once the light is out, remove the USB drive.
- Download the updater application to your computer.
Will the update be downloaded to a Mac or Windows computer?
Download for Windows
Download the Bose Updater application.
- Click here to download the Windows update application.
- When prompted, choose to Run or Save the application.
- If you click Run, follow the prompts to perform the update
- If you click Save, select a save location, then go to that location and run the application
- Choose a language.
- Read and accept the End Users License Agreement.
- Connect the same USB drive used above to the computer and follow the application instructions.
- When prompted by the application, remove the USB drive from the computer.
Install the update on your speaker:
- Power on your speaker.
- Connect the same USB drive used above to the SERVICE jack on the back of your speaker.
- Wait for the update to complete: The light on your speaker glows solid amber while updating. Once complete, the light turns off and four tones are heard.
- Once the light is out, remove the USB drive: The speaker will play a power-on tone, then you can resume normal operation.

Download the Bose Updater application.
- Click here to download the macOS update application.
- When prompted, drag the update application to the desktop as indicated.
Tip: If you are not prompted, double-click the downloaded file first. - Choose a language.
- Read and accept the End Users License Agreement.
- Connect the same USB drive used above to the computer and follow the application instructions.
- When prompted by the application, remove the USB drive from the computer.
Install the update on your speaker:
- Power on your speaker.
- Connect the same USB drive used above to the SERVICE jack on the back of your speaker.
- Wait for the update to complete: The light on your speaker glows solid amber while updating. Once complete, the light turns off and four tones are heard.
- Once the light is out, remove the USB drive: The speaker will play a power-on tone, then you can resume normal operation.
