Resetting your product | Bose Smart Soundbar
To reset your soundbar:
- Turn off the soundbar.
- Disconnect the power cord from the soundbar or power outlet.
- If an accessory bass module or surround speakers are connected, disconnect the power cords for them also.
Tip: If accessory surround speakers are connected, disconnect power from both surround speaker receivers. - After 30 seconds, reconnect power to the soundbar.
- Wait about 30 seconds for the soundbar to reboot.
- If you disconnected power cords from an accessory bass module or surround speakers in step 3, reconnect them.
Restore the soundbar to factory default settings.
Restoring factory default setting erases all settings and returns your product to its default out-of-box state. This should be performed when the above reset process is unsuccessful. Once reset, open the Bose app to reconfigure your product.
Steps 1-6 will only need to be performed if you have enabled Amazon Alexa and registered the soundbar in the Amazon app.
- In the Amazon Alexa app, go to Devices > Echo & Alexa
- Select your Bose product, then scroll down and tap Deregister
Tip: If your product appears more than once, remove all instances of it - Next, select Account > Other Programs > Login with Amazon
- Select Remove next to any entries for Bose
- If you do not plan to use other Bose product with your Amazon account after the reset, view the installed Skills in the Alexa app and remove the Bose skill
- Open the Bose app and remove Alexa from your Bose account. For more info, see Using Amazon Alexa
- Remove the product from your Bose account. For more info, see Removing a product from your Bose account
- On the remote, press and hold the Play/Pause
and Volume – buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds.
The entire light bar will blink twice and the soundbar will reboot. When complete, an amber light glows steadily in the light bar indicating the soundbar is in setup mode.
