Determining if a computer has Bluetooth functionality | Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar
Which operating system is being used?
Chromebook
To determining if a Chromebook has Bluetooth®, follow these steps:
- Click the status area in the lower-right corner of the screen
- If you see the Bluetooth logo
or a similar icon with a slash through it (indicating that Bluetooth is currently disabled) the Chromebook is capable of using Bluetooth devices. If you don't see either of these messages, that means the device doesn't support Bluetooth devices
Mac running OS X 10.4.6 or later
To determine if a computer has Bluetooth®, follow these steps:
***Please note the following steps only indicate whether the system has Bluetooth or a Bluetooth adapter is installed. It does not tell you what Bluetooth profiles it supports (i.e. A2DP etc.)***
- Click the apple menu in the top left corner of the screen
- In the apple menu click "About this Mac" or "About this Mac"
- In the About this Mac dialog click "More Info..."
- Click "System Report..."
- Click the "Hardware" option in the menu on the left. If you have the information to the right that is highlighted below then the computer has Bluetooth
PC running Windows 10
To determine if a computer has Bluetooth®, follow these steps:
***Please note the following steps only indicate whether the system has Bluetooth or a Bluetooth adapter is installed. It does not tell you what protocols it supports or if the proper drivers are installed.***
- In the search box on the taskbar, enter the term device manager
- In the search results, select Device Manager at the top. The Device Manager window will appear
- Click the pointer next to the Bluetooth group
If the computer has a Bluetooth section similar to the one highlighted above then the computer has Bluetooth
