Be sure the computer has a USB 1.1 port or higher.

Connecting the system to a USB 1.0 port may result in distortion or no audio. Clicks, pops or ticks are due to limited data transfer capabilities with the 1.0 port specification. Contact the computer manufacturer to inquire if USB 1.1 or 2.0 ports are available or can be added.

Be sure the levels are set properly.

If levels are not set properly, performance will suffer. Follow these guidelines when setting levels:
  • Check the signal LED to be sure the input trim level is sufficiently set. The LED should be solid green, indicating a strong signal
  • If the LED is not solid green, increase the input trim level, stopping before the LED is red
  • When the input trim level is correct, increase channel volume and master volume to the desired levels

Be sure the output is assigned properly.

It is possible that the inputs are assigned to the USB output incorrectly. For information on assigning the USB output, see Assigning USB outputs.

Plug in to a different input on your ToneMatch mixer.

Determine if the mixer input is the issue by connecting the audio source to a different input channel using the same cable(s).

Check the sampling and bit rate of the computer's audio intput.

The USB output on the T1 is a 48 kHz, 24 bit signal. Be sure the computer is set to accept this. For information on checking the computer's audio output, see the owner's manual

Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable at each end.

Disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable that connects the system to the computer can re-establish a successful connection. Be sure the cable is secure at both ends.

If a USB hub is in use, try bypassing it.

Some USB hubs might cause a computer to have difficulty communicating with USB devices. If you're using a USB hub, disconnect it and connect your product directly to your computer to determine if the issue is related to the hub.

Be sure the playback application is up to date.

It is possible that an older version of the playback application may not be compatible with the T1 system. Contact the application's manufacturer for assistance

Connect the product to another USB port.

Disconnect the product from the USB port in use and reconnect it to another port. Try using a port located elsewhere on the computer and/or bypassing any USB hubs, as the issue may be with the group of USB jacks or another device connected among that group.

Try a different USB cable.

Check if the issue is resolved with a different USB cable. If so, there may be an issue with the first cable.

Remove all other USB audio or video devices that are connected.

If any audio or video devices are connected to USB ports on the computer, disconnect them when installing the Bose system to ensure a trouble-free installation.
