Humming, buzzing or rattling noise heard from product | T8S ToneMatch® mixer
If you hear an unexpected noise from your product:
Try the following:
Be sure the system is set up properly and all connections are secure.
A connection may have come loose or may be connected incorrectly. For more info, see Setting up your product.
Plug the ToneMatch Mixer into another power outlet.
Ground loops, which can cause buzzing or humming sounds, can result from having too many high-powered devices (such as computers, amplifiers, or effects processors) plugged into the same electric outlet.
Be sure audio and power cables are not side by side.
Adjacent audio and power cables may cause interference, often heard as a hum or buzz. Keep audio and power cables at least 8 inches apart, and cross them, if necessary, at 90-degree angles.
Replace the input cables.
Try different input cables using the same source and same channel. If this solves the problem, the original cables may be defective.
Plug in a different audio source.
Connected a different audio source to determine if the issue is related to the source: If audio is being sent to your system from a a microphone, try a different microphone; if an instrument is connected, try a different instrument.
Test the power outlets and any extensions.
Use an AC line tester to see if the outlet works, and then to check for reversed polarity, open lines or incorrect grounding. For best performance, the incoming power must be clean and properly grounded.
Reset your product.
Much like rebooting a smartphone, your product might need to be reset on occasion to correct minor issues. For more information, see Resetting your product.
