Turning Auto-wake On or Off | Bose TV Speaker (2nd Gen)

Turn on or off the Auto-wake feature.

TVs or devices plugged into your Bose TV Speaker

When Auto-wake is on, the speaker automatically powers on when sound is received. When Auto-wake is off, the speaker powers on only when you press the power button on the remote control. Note: If the speaker is connected to your TV using an HDMI cable, the HDMI-CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) feature of your TV can automatically turn the speaker on or off, which will override the Auto-wake setting.

On the remote control, press and hold the Power button for about five seconds until a tone is heard and the light on the speaker blinks amber. An ascending tone means Auto-wake is on; a descending tone means Auto-wake is off.

Bluetooth devices

The Auto-wake feature is for devices plugged in to your speaker. For more info, see the section above.

Devices connected using Bluetooth can power on your speaker even with Auto-wake off. Just go to the Bluetooth menu on a device you have previously connected, select your Bose TV Speaker, and it will power on the speaker. For Bluetooth devices you haven't previously connected, you'll need to connect once before this will work. For more info, see Connecting a Bluetooth device.
