Using Voice Control | Bose QuietComfort Earbuds
Controlling the headphones with voice commands
You can control a variety of earbud functions with your voice. Simply say "Hey headphones," then a command. Command options include:
- Answering and Rejecting calls - Accept/Reject
- Media Controls - Play/Pause/Next/Previous
- Volume Controls - Volume Up/Down (moves in single steps) or Plus/Minus (a number between 1 and 5 to make larger jumps).
- Noise control - Switching between Aware (On/Off) and Quiet (On/Off)
- Taking a Selfie - Take Photo
- Summoning your mobile device Assistant - Siri/Google Assistant/Bixby etc.
You can also improve the detection accuracy for your voice by running the Voice ID Calibration.
- First, Enable Voice ID
- Then hit Start Calibration
- Follow the app instructions and repeat the phrases. This will help the earbuds better recognize your voice and speech patterns.
Using the AI Audio Guide
With Bose QC Earbuds app version 3.0.3, you can use the new AI Audio Guide feature.
The AI Audio Guide is a built-in assistant that answers questions about your earbuds and how to use them. It focuses only on your product and does not connect to the internet or external AI services.
This feature is currently in Beta and will continue to improve over time.
Before you start: Make sure your earbuds are paired, the app is open (in the foreground or background), and Voice Control is enabled.
To enable voice control:
- In the Bose QC Earbuds app, tap the Voice Control tile
- Toggle Enable Voice Control on
You can assign it as a shortcut for quick access, or tap the “Speak” button to start a conversation.
Your conversations are saved as a transcript. To delete a conversation, tap the gear icon on the AI Audio Guide screen and select the option to delete it.
