Remote control does not work from a distance | VideoWave® entertainment system
Be sure the remote is within range of the system.
The maximum operating range of the remote control included with the system is 33 feet (10 meters)
Check to see if the remote batteries are low.
Your system can tell you if the remote batteries are low in one of two ways:
- A "Low Remote Batteries" warning on the screen
- A blink pattern on the control console:
- On the control console, turn the system on and wait for it to fully boot up
- Turn the system off and wait about for the console LED to turn solid red (or amber if an iPod is docked)
- Look at the console LED. If it blinks red (5 on, 1 off), the remote batteries are dead
Reset your product.
Much like rebooting a smartphone, your product might need to be reset on occasion to correct minor issues. For more information, see Resetting your product.
Remove the batteries from any secondary VideoWave remote not in use.
Only one remote can pair with the VideoWave system at a time. However if you pair a new remote to the system the old remote does not receive any indication that it is no longer the primary remote. If the old remote is then activated (by triggering the accelerometer) it will try to communicate with the console and may generate enough interference to block communications with the primary remote
Check for sources of interference.
Electronics can pick up interference from other electronics connected to the same power circuit or connected within close proximity of your control console. Try disconnecting the power cord from any such nearby electronics (i.e. laptop/phone charger, TV, cable box, seasonal lights, microwave/appliance, Bluetooth devices, etc.). If the issue is resolved, try connecting the device or your product to a different power circuit or farther away.
