Which device is being used?

Replace the video cable used to connect your product.

Check to see if an error message is displayed on the screen.

Make sure the source has been labeled correctly.

A source may have been mislabeled during setup. Verify that the source you want to view has been selected. On the remote, press Source to see the currently selected source

Reset the HDMI connection by resetting both devices and the cable connected between them.

  1. Turn off the Bose system and the source device.
  2. Unplug the Bose system and the source device.
  3. Disconnect HDMI cable at both ends and reseat them ensuring a secure connection.
  4. Reconnect the source device and the Bose system to power.
  5. Turn on the source device.
  6. Turn on the Bose system.
The connection may have come loose. It is possible that some elements of the signal may pass through the cable, but others may not. The connected device may store misinformation received through the HDMI cable. Resetting it should clear its memory of this data.

In the menu of the connected device, try disabling HDMI-CEC.

CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) allows devices to send control information (e.g. power, input switching, remote control, etc.) back and forth over HDMI. CEC implementation and capabilities can vary among different brands, which can cause various control issues. Try disabling CEC in the menu of the connected device, then try again. Depending on the brand, CEC may be labelled differently in the device menu. For more info, see Names used by different brands for CEC.

Check if the device is available in the source list.

On the remote, press the Source button to view the list of devices that have been set up to use with your system. If the list does not include the device, see Connecting other devices to your system.

If enabled, disable the Video Mute option.

Video Mute disables video on the screen. When enabled, the light on the system console and the light on the monitor will both be solid green. To disable this option, see Adjusting Video Mute.
