Determining the MAC address | Wave® SoundTouch® music system
Connect the device running the app to the "Bose SoundTouch Wi-Fi Network" to obtain this info.
- Using the alternate network connectiong method, connect to the "Bose SoundTouch Wi-Fi Network." For more info, see Connecting to a Wi-Fi network
- Open a browser window, enter 192.168.1.1:8090/info in the address bar
- The following info will be shown:
- System Name
- System Type
- SoundTouch Account Number
- Firmware Version
- SCM Serial Number
- System Serial Number
- SoundTouch Controller Information (if connected)
- SCM Information (MAC Address, Serial Number)
- SMSC Information (MAC Address, Serial Number)
To obtain the MAC address of the SoundTouch pedestal, perform the set up using a computer to view the address.
Open the SoundTouch app on a computer and follow the set up instructions. Once the "Connect to Home Wi-Fi Network" screen is shown, "System Information" will appear below "Manually Connect to Another Network". Clicking on this text will reveal the system's MAC address.

To obtain the MAC address of the system using a tethered USB connection, follow these steps:
This method requires a computer (PC or MAC) and will work on all SoundTouch SM1 and SM2 products. It does not require us to determine the IP address of the system on the network
- In the SoundTouch computer app, begin the setup process (Settings > Add or Reconnect System)
- When you reach the "Connect to home Wi-Fi network" screen, choose "System Information" to view the system's MAC address

- Connect a USB cable from your computer to the SoundTouch system
- On a desktop/laptop computer, open a browser and go to http://203.0.113.1:8090/info
- The following info will be shown:
- System Name
- System Type
- SoundTouch Account Number
- Firmware Version
- SCM Serial Number
- System Serial Number
- SoundTouch Controller Information (if connected)
- SCM Information (MAC Address, Serial Number)
- SMSC Information (MAC Address, Serial Number)
To view the product MAC address in the SoundTouch app:
- In the SoundTouch app menu, tap Settings
Tip: to open the app menu, tap the menu icon ☰ in the upper-left
- Tap About, then select a system
The Speaker Details screen shows info for the selected system.
