Too much bass or too little treble from product | Acoustimass® 16 Series II home entertainment speaker system
If the sound lacks treble or has too much bass:
Try the following:
Check if the issue is with both or one rear speaker.
Listen to both speakers to determine if the issue is with one or both rear speakers. If the issue is only with one speaker, see Quiet, intermittent or poor sound quality from one speaker.
Be sure the system is set up properly and all connections are secure.
A connection may have come loose or may be connected incorrectly. For more info, see Setting up your product.
Be sure the tone controls on the Acoustimass module are set properly.
If both the bass and treble controls are set too low or high, the overall sound quality can be diminished. Set them to the middle for normal performance.
Adjust bass and treble controls on the connected audio device.
Many devices have sound options, like bass and treble controls or compression. Check the device menu for sound processing options and disable them. If the issue is resolved, re-add only the necessary sound options. For adjustable options, try small adjustments.
Be sure the receiver is set properly.
Many receivers have settings for speaker size, tone control, and activation of a subwoofer or low frequency effects (LFE). For more information on receiver settings, see Setting up your product.
Relocate the Acoustimass module to decrease bass.
Move the Acoustimass module away from a wall or corner to decrease bass response. Bass response changes with the location of the module.
Check if your speaker placement follows the recommendations for your system.

Reset your product.
Much like rebooting a smartphone, your product might need to be reset on occasion to correct minor issues. For more information, see Resetting your product.
