No audio from one or more grouped Bose wireless audio systems | Bose Home Speaker 450
If using SimpleSync to connect a Bluetooth® speaker or headphones to your smart speaker, here are some suggestions.
Check the volume level of the Bose system.
Be sure the system volume is not turned down. Using the volume control, gradually increase the volume level.
Determine if each system is able to play audio independently.
If one or more systems are unable to play audio when Play On All Speakers mode is off, see No audio from product and select the appropriate option.
Close and re-open the Bose app.
Closing an app varies by device and operating system. Common methods for mobile devices are shown below:

- Depending on your iOS device, either double-tap the Home button or swipe up from the bottom center of the screen to view active apps
- Swipe left or right to find the app you want to close
- Swipe up on the app to close it.
- On the home screen, press and hold the app icon
- Tap App info from the pop-up that appears
- On the App Info screen, tap Force Stop.
Reset the products having the issue.
For information on performing a reset, see Resetting your product. (Note: A reset is used to correct occasional product issues. It is not something that a product should require repeatedly.)
Determine if the product has a good connection to the router.
In the Bose app, go to the Technical Info screen from product's Settings menut and check its Wi-Fi Strength. The number will range from -30 dBm (best signal) to -90 dBm (poor signal). If the connection is poor, consider relocating the router and/or product or reducing sources of interference to improve signal. Check to see if other devices on your network are using too much bandwidth.
When a device is active on your network, they use some of the available bandwidth of your router. Some tasks use more bandwidth than others—like video streaming, gaming, video calls, data backups, etc. If devices are performing these tasks, bandwidth can decrease for other devices. Turn off any device or app that might be using a lot of bandwidth, then check if performance improves. If possible, use an Ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi to connect high-bandwidth devices to your network. This frees up wireless bandwidth for devices that need to be connected wirelessly.
If using a dual-band router, try using router's other band.
On routers that offer 2.4 and 5.0 GHz networks, try connecting to the router's other band. For example, if connected to the router's 2.4 GHz network, try connecting to its 5.0 GHz network -- or vise-versa. If the issue is only present on one band, there is interference on that band. Try to reduce or keep clear of potential sources of interference (i.e. cordless phones or baby monitors on 2.4 GHz) or, if possible, use the band without interference.
Check for sources of wireless interference.
It's possible that interference from other wireless devices are affecting the wireless functionality of your product. Check for other wireless devices in the area of your product (i.e. another router, cordless phone, wireless printer, smart TV, etc.). To determine if a device might be interfering, try unplugging its power cord or disabling Wi-Fi on the device. If the issue is resolved when a particular device is removed, try placing that device farther away from your product, if possible. Additionally, if the device has a wireless channel setting, try a different channel.
Reboot your router.
Routers may need to be reset from time to time—much like rebooting a computer. Disconnect power from the router for 30 seconds, then wait for it to start up and connect. (Note: Any device connected to the Internet will be interrupted during the reset.)
Check the WMM setting in the router.
Some routers (especially those with heavy traffic) may need WMM (Wi-Fi Multi-Media) enabled for optimal media streaming performance. If available, this setting can be found in the router settings menu. (It may be located in the QoS [Quality of Service] section.) However, since other factors affect how well WMM works, test performance with WMM enabled and disabled to determine the best WMM setting.
In the router settings, try selecting a different channel.
If multiple wireless devices on the network are communicating on the same channel, it could affect how effectively those devices can transmit and receive data. Log in to the router and, in the settings menu, select a different channel—like 1, 6 or 11 since these channels do not interfere with one another. If you don't notice a difference, you can always change back the channel.
In the router settings, set the data transmission rate to the highest setting.
Many routers have a bandwidth adjustment for the Wi-Fi network. In the router settings menu, this option might be labelled "Link Rate," "Transfer Speed" or something similar. The optimal setting for this option is typically labelled "Auto," "Best" or the highest selectable numeric option.
If the router settings were changed during troubleshooting, be sure to reboot the router.
Some routers may not apply certain changes until they are rebooted. Unplug the router for 30 seconds, wait for it to start up, then try again.
If a Wi-Fi network extender, repeater, powerline adapter or access point is in use, try bypassing it.
If the system is connected to one of these devices, disconnect the device. Then, connect the system to the main router and try again. (Note: If the device is connected because the system is in an area of poor reception, you might need to move the system closer to the main router to test.) If the issue is resolved, the issue is related to the device or its settings.
