Setting Up Your Soundbar | Bose Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar

Connect the soundbar to your TV.

  1. Connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI (eARC) port on the back of the soundbar.
  2. With the TV off, connect the other end of the cable to an HDMI port labelled as ARC or eARC on the back of your TV.
An HDMI port labelled as ARC or eARC is necessary as this type of HDMI connection will have an Audio Return Channel to send TV audio to the soundbar.

Connect the soundbar to power.

  1. Connect the power cord to the POWER port on the back of the soundbar.
  2. Plug the other end of the power cord into an AC (mains) power outlet.
    • The soundbar will automatically turn on when connected to power.
    • During the initial product setup, the status light slowly pulses and cycles through various colors, then the soundbar will play a tone. The soundbar is ready to be set up.
    • If reconnecting the soundbar to power after the initial setup, the status light slowly pulses white, then turns off, and the soundbar will be on.

Connect the soundbar to your network.

Before you begin

  • Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device
  • The status light on the front of the soundbar should be repeatedly cycling through various colors. If it isn't, touch and hold the Bluetooth button and Volume down button for five seconds until the status light blinks white two times.
When the status light glows green, the soundbar is ready to connect to a new Wi-Fi network

  1. Open the Bose app icon  and select Sign In / Sign Up. See Downloading the Bose app to install it on your mobile device running Android or Apple iOS.
  2. Once signed in, tap Set Up New Product. If a list of your Bose products appears in the app, tap + at the bottom of the product list.

  3. When the app finishes searching nearby for the soundbar, tap Add.

  5. Establish a Bluetooth connection so your device can control the soundbar through the app by selecting Pair.
  6. Connect to your Wi-Fi network by selecting its name, entering its password, then tap Connect.
  7. Click Next to confirm your soundbar is positioned correctly. See Soundbar Placement Recommendations for details.
  8. Click Connected to eARC to confirm your soundbar is connected to your TV.
