Determine if TV Control is set correctly.
When a VS-2 video enhancer is connected to the Lifestyle system TV Control will tell the remote which tuner to control and what audio input it should use when the system is on TV as the source. For instance if the TV Control is set to AUX, and the TV source button on the remote is pressed, the remote will only change channels on the AUX device and will play audio from the AUX audio inputs. The media center will read TV (AUX) as a reminder that although you are on the TV input the audio is coming from the AUX connections. For information on how to set TV Control, see

Determine if Persistent Video is set.
Persistent Video will allow a video signal to pass through to the TV when an audio source is selected. For example, if Persistent video is set to Enabled video from the CBL-SAT connection will display on the TVG while audio from a CD is heard. Be sure the VS-2 video enhancer is connected properly to the system.
Make certain the connections between the VS-2 video enhancer, media center and TV are correct and secure. To easily determine if the VS-2 is connected to the media center properly, follow these steps:
- Turn the system off
- Lift the media center door and press and hold the Enter button. House Code should appear on the media center display
- While holding down the Enter button, press the Store button until "VIDEO:" appears on the display. Record the setting listed
- Continue holding down the enter button and press the volume up button to toggle through the available settings. If "Composite + S" is listed at all, the VS-2 serial data cable may not be connected to the media center properly
- Return the setting to the original video setting
Be sure the source is connected properly.
A connection may have come loose or may be incorrect. Check all connections. All video connections should be made at the VS-2 video enhancer and all the corresponding audio connections to the media center under the same label. For example, if video cables are connected to the AUX jacks on the VS-2, the associated audio connections should go to the media center AUX inputs
Note: Although HDMI can transmit audio, the VS-2 video enhancer does not pass that audio back to the system. When using HDMI, be sure to connect audio from the source to the media center.

Try a different input on the VS-2.
The input on the VS-2 may be defective. Try connecting the external video device to a different input using the same video cables. If the issue is resolved then the VS-2 may be defective. Please click Start Repair or Replacement below to explore your available options.
Replace the video cable used to connect your product.
Try replacing the video cable that connects your product. If no issue occurs with the new cable, there was a problem with the original video cable.
