System menu does not appear on TV screen with VS-2 video enhancer | Lifestyle® 28 Series III DVD home entertainment system

Determine if "No Lifestyle video signal" is on the Bose display.

If the message “No Lifestyle video signal" message displayed see, "No Lifestyle Video Signal" message displayed on media center

Confirm the TV is on and the proper input is selected.

Some TVs have a feature where input selections can be turned off or hidden from the on-screen menu. For help changing TV inputs and enabling TV inputs, refer to the TV owner's guide.

Be sure the console software version is 030100 or greater.

For more info, see Checking the software or firmware version. If the console code is not 030100 or greater, run the update disc that came with the VS-2.

Be sure the VS-2 video enhancer is connected properly to the system.

Make certain the connections between the VS-2 video enhancer, media center and TV are correct and secure. To easily determine if the VS-2 is connected to the media center properly, follow these steps:
  1. Turn the system off
  2. Lift the media center door and press and hold the Enter button. House Code should appear on the media center display
  3. While holding down the Enter button, press the Store button until "VIDEO:" appears on the display. Record the setting listed
  4. Continue holding down the enter button and press the volume up button to toggle through the available settings. If "Composite + S" is listed at all, the VS-2 serial data cable may not be connected to the media center properly
  5. Return the setting to the original video setting

Verify the serial data line is firmly connected.

Remove and reinsert the serial data connection to ensure a firm connection is made.

Be sure both video connectors of the VS-2 Quadra Cable are connected to the "Video Out" connections on the media center.

Connecting S-Video and composite video connectors to the "Video In" connections will result in no video.
